TRAINERS' TESTIMONIALS:

GILES CARRADINE

"On Friday 20th Feb. 09 I borrowed my friend's horse 'Charlie' and spent my hard earned pennies on a lesson with Giles Carradine.  It's hard to describe the effect the lesson had on me and the way i worked with Charlie.  It was about a lot of things from channelling the energy he presented in a productive way instead of trying to fight with it; it was about giving the horse a chance to react to an aid instead of nagging away at it; it was about allowing an error and trying things different next time without fuss or stress; it was about fluidity of thought and flexibility, enjoyment and - hell I could go on .... at least that's what I got from it!!!! That, along with a beaming smile - worth every penny.  I recommend you check the Arena website and get booked in."

One hour individual sessions where Giles will discuss and assess the issues that are affecting the performance of the horse, or confidence of the rider, and work to eliminate them.  Each session is geared to how the combination is performing at the time so any new challenges can be dealt with without upsetting any ‘pre-set’ agenda.

Richard’s system of working through trot and canter poles in a grid before tackling a course gives a structure to the session which builds confidence in novice horses and riders and enables the more proficient rider to warm up without putting the horse under pressure.  The grid is then gradually built up in height to determine the horse and rider’s capabilities before the course of jumps is adjusted in height and format, with a view to achieving a ‘perfect’ round.

Sharon’s talents as an all-round trainer, together with her empathy for horse and rider, enable her to be totally flexible in working at all levels for flatwork, jumping and showing.

The sessions last approximately three-quarters of an hour and are geared to the trainees individual goals, whether affiliated competing or general riding.
